Created in November 2014, the association Digital Aquitaine works for the sustainable development of the digital economy by animating industrial and technological themes called Domains of Excellence (DomEx). It promotes the emergence of new ecosystems by identifying and supporting regional initiatives likely to organize themselves into dynamic communities around digital innovation.
Today, with more than 200 active members including SMEs, large groups, startups, schools, laboratories, local authorities, users, and investors, Digital Aquitaine covers the full spectrum of the local digital economy. Its mission is to create fertile ground for the growth and acceleration of impactful technological projects.
Born in the mail sorting center kitchen in Bègles—the future emblematic site of the Cité Numérique—the association quickly extended its action from Aquitaine to all of Nouvelle-Aquitaine, then toward Europe and internationally. Its initial local rooting forms the foundation of growing influence in the digital ecosystem beyond regional borders.
The Domains of Excellence structure its actions with clusters such as Club Commerce Connecté for retail and digital signage, IA Data Science dedicated to data and artificial intelligence uses, SMART4D focused on digital simulation, virtual reality, and augmented reality, TIC Santé for e-health, and TOPOS for smart transportation. These communities collaborate to promote innovative solutions in the sectors of interactive digital signage, industry of the future, mobility, and digital health.
Through its service offer, Digital Aquitaine provides its members with a full range of activities: conferences, trade shows, collaborative projects, and monthly sectoral monitoring resulting from a partnership with UNITEC. These key moments create links to exchange best practices, notably in digital signage, allowing actors to understand how to deploy an effective CMS, schedule multimedia content broadcast, and optimize screen management.
The DomEx SMART4D perfectly illustrates Digital Aquitaine’s collective approach; since 2017 it has brought together an ecosystem mixing startups, SMEs, research structures, and large companies around virtual reality, digital maintenance, Industry 5.0, and energy sobriety. This network favors the creation of immersive demonstrators and collaborative projects carried out during technical and professional events.
Finally, Digital Aquitaine establishes itself as an innovation catalyst in the regional ecosystem and beyond. It ensures strategic visibility for its members through business meetings, a networking platform, and communication channels. The association transforms digital signage into an engaging, measurable communication lever, adapted to the new technological and environmental challenges of contemporary digital.
